Tips on How You Can Avoid Hydroplaning

Hydroplaning occurs when your car tires don't scatter enough water to stay in contact with the road. To avoid this dangerous situation, here are some safety tips to consider.

Never drive with your cruise control activated.

Be sure to slow down when the roads wet. It is always a good idea to avoid large puddles or areas with standing water.

Try to keep your vehicle in the tracks of the vehicle that was directly in front of you so you get more tire tread on the road.

Shift your vehicle into low gear if driving on wet surfaces.

Do not make sharp or quick turns on wet roads. Hard braking could result in the vehicle skidding off the road, so allow plenty of extra distance when traveling on roads that are wet.

See us at Lithia Subaru of Great Falls and our team will make certain your tires are road ready for any weather conditions.
